As the specialist in galvanised metal furniture, including the famous A chair by Xavier Pauchard, Tolix registered its name in 1927. The history of this French manufacturer guided our vision for the brand, and we provided artistic direction for it between 2008 and 2013. By relying on our expertise in sheet metalwork, we started – with no additional investments – deploying a design development strategy based on renewing the ranges and reissuing signature pieces. The design of Tolix furniture is focused on pattern making, and we have drawn attention to how it is assembled, showcasing its style in a range of bold colours to replace the traditional grey.
Combining streamlined cost with simplified manufacturing methods, the reduction of interfaces and the elimination of costly techniques, new object designs that reflect the brand’s standards now enhance the product catalogue.
We designed a new range of children’s furniture in 2010 and invited new designers to create the pieces. In 2012, a state-of-the-art digital production line measuring 7,500 sq. metres was launched, known as “Tolix La Manufacture”. In addition, the creation of new products, the complete overhaul of the visual identity and the implementation of a presence strategy for professional events (booths, installations, etc.) have made the brand more visible.
This new approach has allowed Tolix to become a major French furniture player, and through its economic development it has been able to boost its reputation on various international markets.
